Being a member of this website is voluntary and up to the discretion of the administrative staff. I'm new to the forum. What should I do to make my stay more enjoyable? Welcome to IIC. Below, you will find a short list of items that will help you on your way. - First, you will want to set your preferences and settings in your User CP. - Next, we ask that you make an introductory post in the Resume Forum. - Finally, please feel free to post your location on our Member Map. This is not mandatory, but it helps us get a feel for how our club is spread across the state. - After that, post away! Why are we private? So you don't get spam and so we don't get stragglers visiting the site for no good reason. Why can't I send Private Messages? Give us 10 quality posts and 2 weeks of your time, then you'll be able to use the Private Messaging function. I can see the Classifieds, but I can't make a post or reply to an ad. What gives? The ability to post and/or reply to a Classified ad is unlocked after you have made 10 posts and have been an active member for 2 weeks. Also, if you've come to this site just to sell things, you'll need to PM an admin before you attempt to sell your wares. Otherwise, you get a free ticket to BANVILLE, POPULATION: YOU. Is a swear filter available? Yes. User CP -> Edit Options -> Check the box next to "Enable Word Censor." Is there any content that is not allowed to be posted? We try to run a forum that is suitable for all adults, but we do have some high school age folks on the board. We don't need nudity, graphic violence, drug use, etc. If you would be embarrassed if your boss or Mom to see it, it probably doesn't need posted here. We ask that you respect others that may be viewing the forums from a location that may not appreciate the items you are posting (ie. their workplace). This means you should include a Not Safe For Work (NSFW) indicator in your thread title for any post that may not be appropriate. Management reserves the right to edit, delete and/or censor, without warning, any posts/threads that are deemed inappropriate. We've discovered that topics about politics and religion never work well, so we just avoid them. There are plenty of other places to post those topics. We ask that you don't bring those topics into existing threads either. What happens when I get 1,000 posts? You get to polish a unicorn's horn. You get to change your user title. You get to jump off that cliff that everyone is jumping off of. You get to find out that Santa Claus was a person but does not fly around in a sleigh like Tim Allen. Maybe you'll grow boobs. It's hard to tell. Why are all my F-Bombs changed to "flock?' In the previous iteration of this wonderful board on the internet, there was discussion of "flocking" a dashboard with that wonderful suede-ish product. Things developed, flowers bloomed, immaculate conceptions were brought forth...discussion was rampant. Don't like it? Choose the non-flocked style. Otherwise, get FAQed! |
